The whole of September while I was away from design, I read, contemplated on where my career is headed, thought about what made me different as a designer.
I started to grow a love for design philosophy. My heart warms when reading design poets, such as Liz Danzico, Josh & Josh from 52 Weeks of UX, etc.
I started really seeing design in everyday things - the clock on buildings, the intersections, the shampoo packaging, etc.
I could fill in the whole design process story in my head when I see a poster on the street.
Alright, alright, alright. Besides all the mental progress, I do have something tangible:
I started writing specific goals
It took about 2-3 weeks of research and reflection to realize that I have been afraid of setting specific goals.
(Fun fact, after I wrote my specific goals out in plain words, the first feeling was fear just as expected according to the book. Who said book smart is overrated?)
I read
Finished books
Solving Design Problems
100 Things
In Progress books
52 Weeks of UX
A truly great design philosophy series. I found many design poets there, whom I wish to become, such as the two writers Josh Brewer and Joshua xxx, Liz Danzico, etc.
